Q. How do I adjust the settings of my router?

AsusRouterA. It is important that you are careful when changing settings in the router as this can cause major problems if not done correctly. Make sure your computer is connected to your router in one of the numbered ports. Your computer should not be connected to the WAN or Internet port.
Open an Internet browser window. In the address bar type the IP address of your router. If the computer is able to connect to the router you should be prompted with a username and password. Often the username is admin and the password is what you chose when setting up the router. If you’re not sure try admin as both the username and password.
Finally, if you are authorized with the username and password you should be able to enter the setup screen.
